“So do not start worrying: ‘Where will my food come from? Or my drink? Or my clothes?(These are the things that pagans are always worried about.) Your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things.’” —Matthew 6: 31-32, TEV
“Don’t for a minute worry about careless rebels…”
Beloved, don’t worry about having to conform with how the people in this world act— how they become scared easily, how they worry, how they work everytime and miss the good times of their lives, or where they find all their happiness or pleasure. They are seeking temporary and breakable things, no matter how shiny these may seem.
You, on the other hand, are different. You are a child of God. You are His responsibility, the carrier of His promises. Stop asking yourself, ‘Am I not supposed to do things the way they do? Shouldn’t I think like them also?’ because you were not made for the things they bathe themselves in. You are a person of royalty. You were made for so much more— things that are permanent, eternal, and grand.
You know what you have to do? Just soak yourself in Fear of God, or worship. Contemplate your Father’s love and mercy. Meditate on His goodness and claim His promises. Just think of everything that is ABOUT HIM, beloved, instead of worrying. You know you don’t have to take things the world’s way. Your security is in your Savior. Your assurance is anchored on the Cross. You are different in a heavenly way, beloved. Therefore, be confident, not doubtful of your standing, because it is God, not you, who will take you safely to your future.
